The Brenner Base Tunnel is a 55-kilometre (34 mi) long railway tunnel through the base of the Eastern Alps beneath the Brenner Pass. In total it’s about 220 km of tunnel drilling.

The travel time from Innsbruck to Bolzano will be reduced from 2 hours to 50 minutes.

Scheduled opening is 2026.
